Since 1878, our educational programs have provided comprehensive, patient-centered oral health care. A part of our educational program, we have the ability to provide high quality, yet affordable, low cost dental work. Patients are charged a reasonable fee to cover operating costs and services for the clinic.

How can you access low cost dental work?

At Penn Dental Medicine, we strive to provide you with quality care and also work to make your smile affordable.

In order to become a patient, you must schedule an initial examination. During your initial examination, we will record your medical history, perform a physical exam and a brief dental exam to be sure you are eligible to participate in our program. If you are eligible, we will assign you to a student in our predoctoral or postdoctoral clinics. We will then schedule your second dental appointment and during that appointment your student doctor, under faculty supervision, will complete a comprehensive exam and develop a personalized treatment plan. If this treatment plan is in accordance with our educational needs, you will be accepted to participate in the program and we will schedule your next dental visit to begin treatment.

If you are not eligible to participate in our program, we can give you a treatment plan that we feel is in your best interest to pursue in maintaining good oral health.
